Jewish Architecture Synagogue in Schoonhoven, The Netherlands

The seventeenth-century Brandenburg residence was redeveloped as a synagogue in 1838. The front facade was renovated in 1868, plastered in a neoclassical style, with rounded arch windows, cornice and attic. The Jewish community of Schoonhoven dissolved in 1947 after which the building was sold. It has been used as the Museum Schoonhovens Edelambachtshuijs since 1983. The location of the former women's gallery can still be seen on the inside of the building.
The mikveh of the synagogue was located at the back side of the building located at the Lange Weistraat 4.
