The Torah pointer comprises an upper rectangular handle surmounting a pointed leaf-shaped bar, which tapers towards a pointer formed as a clenched hand with a straight index finger.
The handle consists of several rhomboid units separated by rectangular grooved rings. A ring, inserted through a loop, is at the tip of the handle.
The flat bar is shaped as an elongated pointed leaf. It is decorated with a widening grapevine with leaves and clusters of grapes framed by small dots. The vine is topped by a star and a crescent (hilal) and mounted over a vertical fish. The ornament is embellished by blue enamel.
The back side is inscribed with a dedication, written in Hebrew square linear letters, read towards the pointer:
"קודש לה' על יד(י) מרדוך/ כהן הי"ו (האל ישמרהו ויזכהו)."
"Dedicated to the Lord, made by Mordokh Cohen, may the Lord sustain him and grant him favour."
A stripe of small dots frames the inscription.
