Jewish Architecture Synagogue in Brzeg, Poland
Synagogue in Brzeg (61 Władysława Jagiełły Street, corner of Długa street) built in 1799. Renovated in 1899 and 1937. During the Kristallnacht (November 9-10 1938) the Nazis burnt the synagogue down and burnt the Torah scrolls. In 1940 the building was reconstructed and became a residential building.
Built of stone on a rectangular plan, it is in the classicist style. Part of the northern and eastern elevation is left from the original facade.
Monuments registry no 217/58 from 20.01.1958.
