Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah mantle, 1942
The green Torah Mantle consists of a cloak and a lining. The rectangular cloth cloak is made of two parts and is attached at the top with two crossed straps. It opens at the back. The back is decorated, with white, red, and blue, from top to bottom: With an inscription in square-filled letters that reads:
"כי מציון תצא תורה ודבר ה' מירושלים"[ישעיה ב:ג, מיכה ד:ב]
"For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem".(Is.2:3,Mic.4:2,)
The inscription is mounted over a Torah Crown which is flanked by its initials which reads:
")כ(תר )ת(ורה"

It is mounted over the Tablets of Covenant which are flanked by two Stars of David. Inside the Tablets of Covenant are the first two words of the Tablets. Inside the stars of David there is the word: "ציון" "Zion"
Beneath the Tablets of Covenant, there are two flying birds holding in their mouth a strap which bears a dedicatory inscription that reads:
"שושנה כהן" "Shoshanah Cohen"
the dedicatory inscription is flanked by two columns, which are decorated with geometrical pattern. The dedicatory inscription continues beneath it in filled square letters and reads:
"לעילוי נשמת אחים שלה שנת תש"ב"
"For the exaltation of her brother's souls year 702(=1942)"
A zig-zag decoration is placed beneath the inscription. The forward is decorated in yellow, red, white, blue, from top to bottom: Two stars of David beneath them an inscription and beneath the inscription two stars of David. The stars bear at their centre the word which reads:
"ציון" "Zion"
The inscription is placed in an eye-shaped format and reads:
"כי מציון תצא תורה ודבר ה' מירושלים ## צהלו ורוני יושבת ציון כי גדול בקרבך ## קדש ישראל ## אם אשכחך ירושלים תשכח ימיני"
"For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem (Is.2:3, Mic.4:2)## Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee. (Is. 12:6)## Consecrate Israel ## If i forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning"
The Zigzag decoration continues below on this side as well. A strap is attached to the borders of the cloth and is decorated in a geometrical pattern.
