  Torah ark curtain (Parokhet), 1887

The square parokhet is composed of two cloths, one cloth is made of square yellow silk which has black velvet with the inscription on it. This cloth has a pink cotton frame. A yellow dedicatory inscription is embroidered on the black velvet and reads:

"זאת הפרוכת קודש לעילוי/ נשמת ולמנוחת נפש ה'ב העלוב/ המ' עזרא צאלח עזרא יעקב נ"ע/ נלב"ע יום ש"ק ב' אב ונקבר ליל/ א' ג' אב הת"רמז ת"נצבה"

"This parokhet Dedicated to/ the soul and repose of the humble youth/the mullah Ezra Tzalah Ezra Jacob his rest in the garden of Eden/ passed away the day of holy sabbath 2, Av and buried at the night/1, 3, Av 1887 May his soul be bound up in the bond of life"
