The black velvet Torah^mantle is composed of a cloak and a top.##The cylindrical cloth cloak is made of a single part, is attached to the top, and opens in the front. The cloth bears floral embroidery decoration arranged around a dedicatory inscription on the center back. The latter is surmounted by a crown embroidered in bronze and purple threads. Below it is a large flower. The front sides are symmetrically embroidered in metal thread in a pattern of branches with flowers and leaves. A factory-made ribbon and cantila fringeis attached to the upper, lower, and center-front borders of the cloth. The hard oval top is made of wood covered with black velvet, and has two round openings for the Torah Scroll rods. Between the two openings is a ribbon for hanging the mantle. The dedicatory inscription is embroidered in filled letters over eight lines and reads: מפה מפוארה##שהקדיש המשו!ח ה!ר##משה סנאניץ י!ץ למנ'##מרת אשתו ה'כה'ץ##רחל##מ!ך שנ'לב'ע ביום ב'##כ!ב לח' אייר ש! שת'א##לפ!ק ת'נצ'ב'ה !A glorious cloth##that was dedicated by the praiseworthy and important the Rabbi##Moses Snaniz, may his Rock protect him, for the repose of##his wife, the honoured and modest Mrs.##Rachel Her rest be honoured, who passed away on Monday##the 22nd of the month of Iyar the year (5)701 (19.5.1941)##May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.!
