  Sacred and Ritual Torah mantle, Morocco, 1959
The brown velvet Torah mantle is composed of a cloak and a top.
The cylindrical cloth cloak is attached to the top and opens in the front. The back of the cloak is depicted by two pointed arches decorated with foliate pattern and bears the Ten Commandments. The arches are topped by a Torah crown flanked by two lions. An inscription appears above the lions and reads:
כתר % תורה !
Translation: Crown of Torah!
The date appears between the crown and the arches, and reads:
!5719 (1959)!
The front of the cloak is decorated symmetrically with a foliate pattern surrounded by stars. A dedicatory inscription encircles the upper and lower borders. The oval top is made of wood and covered by an embroidered velvet and has two openings at its centre for the Torah Scroll rod. The top is decorated with foliate patterns.
The borders of the mantle are encircled by a ribbon of fringes. The dedicatory inscription is embroidered in filled letters. It reads from the top and continues on the lower borders:
לבושין דיקר נדבת האשה הגברית פריחא אסולין מ'ב'ת' בת
אהרן נ''ע אשת היקר מתתיא שטרית הי''ו אכיר וזכות התורה
Translation: The precious cloth is a donation of the woman Mrs. Friha Asulin, blessed shall she be above women in the tent (Judg. 5:24), daughter of % Aaron, may he rest in peace (int.), wife of the dear Mathitia Shitrit, may the Lord protect and sustain him (int.), amen may it be His will (int.), and the virtue of the Torah!
