History/Provenance

In July 1941, 67 people were shot in Vyžuonos forest.

Originally, there were inscriptions in Lithuanian and Russian: Čia 1941 m. liepos mėn. nužudyti Rokiškio apskrities tarybiniai aktyvistai / Here Soviet activists from Rokiškis District were murdered in July 1941. The inscriptions probably disappeared in the 1990s.

Since April 1, 2016, the monument is no longer protected by the state and is abandoned. The former number in the State Cultural Register is 11156.
