Who is Commemorated?

The six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust

Description

This monument consists of two parts:

The first part is a white structure reminiscent of a greek temple, with two ionic columns and a triangular roof with a Magen David in the pediment, a small room at the back being the only other part of the structure. A plaque is placed above the doorway to this small room and within a plaque depicting a Jewish man being attacked by German soldiers. An exterior wall bears 24 memorial plaques commemorating family members killed in the Holocaust with inscriptions in Hebrew, Spanish and Yiddish; the largest among them is a dedicatory plaque with the names of the Board of Directors when the monument was erected.

Next to the "Greek temple" structure appears a low brick base, with a number of stelae (six?) erected on top of it and a tribute plaque inscribed in Spanish.
