The Torah pointer comprises an upper cylindrical handle surmounting a leaf-shaped bar, which tapers towards a pointer formed as a clenched hand with a straight index finger.

The handle includes undulating units set in between compressed globes and rings. A round loop, through which a ring is inserted, surmounts the handle.

The flat bar is composed of an elongated leaf-shaped unit, topped by a semi-circular unit. The bar is decorated with scrolling branches on which a bird is perching.

The back side is inscribed with a dedication, written in square linear letters and reads towards the handle (fig. 1):

"למנוחת האשה כשירה והצנועה/ מרת יעקותה לבית כהן נלב"ע (נאספה לבית עולמה)/ ביום ג' ט' אייר התשכ"ה/ ת'נ'צ'ב'ה' א' (תהי נשמתה צרורה בצרור החיים, אמן)."

“(Donated) for the repose of the conscientious and modest woman, Mrs. Ya'akutah of the Cohen family, who passed away on Tuesday, the 9th of Iyar the year 5725 (11.5.1965), may her soul be bound in the bond of life, amen.”

Two branches are depicted on either side of the inscription and they are all framed by two thin stripes.
