Sacred and Ritual Objects Torah pointer
The silver torah pointer consists of a bar and a pointer.
The upper arm is six faceted and tapering. The facets bears alternatively geometric pattern and dedicatory inscription. (see Sc.1989.145;2/2) It is surmounted by a globular upper joint.
Between the upper arm and the forearm is a six faceted middle joint. It is decorated with geometric pattern. The forearm is cylindrical and tapering towards the pointer. It is divided into four by beaded vertical ines. It bears geometric pattern and stone settings. The forearm terminates with a clenched hand with a straight index finger.
The dedicatory inscripitons are engraved in linear zigzag letters and read towards the forearm, and reads:
לע"נ )לעילוי נשמת( בעלה המנוח אברהם
"In the memory of the soul (int.) of her husband the late Abraham
" בן שמחה נלבע )שנפטר לבית עולמו( ח" אלול ##תרצא תנצבה
"Son of Simha who passed away the 8th of Elul ## (5)691=1931 may his soulbe bound up in the bond of life
" קל"ה )קודש לה'( מאת מזל שאלתיאל
"Dedicated to the Lord 9int.) by Mazal Saliel"
