A man is represented in the foreground on the left, in right profile. He moves to the right holding plough, consisting of the two wheels. He is wearing a rimmed hat, a shirt, trousers and heavy boots. In the background a woman's figure is seen, also in right profile. She holds the reins in her left hand and a whip in her right hand. She is barefooted wears a blouse with a skirt and a head scarf. In the right part of the composition the back of a horse cut by the frame is shown. The clear line of horizon is on the level of the man's waist.
