Fol. 281v:

The text page of commentary on the SeMak is set in two columns, each of which is decorated with two initial word panels for the opening of sections executed in red ink.  The panels are set at the beginning and end of the column lines, with a rectangular shaped text section set in between them, thus dividing the column into three text sections of which the outer two continue down the length of the page.  The initial words in all four panels are written in brown letters in Gothic script and set in a rectangular panel filled with dense hetching.  Extending from each of the panels on one side, along the length of the margins, are long delicate tendrils with flourishes and beaded motifs executed in red and brown ink.  The rectangular text section in the middle of the left column ends in a point and is decorated by two acanthus leaves bound together by a ring and flanking the last few lines of the text,.  The leaves are depicted on a criss-cross ground all executed in red ink
