The rectangular Parokhet is composed of three clothes set one on top of the other. The main cloth is black enclosing a purple core at the center, framed by a rectangular green, purple and black cloth. The core is rectangular with an arched top and framed by a silver strip. It bears a Hebrew dedicatory inscription written in square filled letters arranged in five lines, and reads:
"קל"ה (קודש לה')/זה"פ (זה הפרוכת) לעי"נ (לעילוי נשמת) הבחור הנ' (הנפטר) בקציו"ש (בקצור ימים ושנים)/בגדוד העברי יעקב בן מזל/ אשת רפאל מזרחי הי"ו (ה' יחזקהו וישמרהו)/ נלב"ע (נאסף לבית עולמו) י' אלול ש' (שנת) תרע"ט/ תנצב"ה (תהיה נשמתו צרורה בצרור החיים)"
Dedicated to the Lord, this Parokhet to the exaltation of the soul of the youth who passed away with days and years cut off, (while serving) in the Jewish Legion, Ya'akoc (Jacob) son of Mazal wife of Rafael Mizrachi may the Lord sustain and protect them, passed away on the 10th in the month of Elul in the year (5)679 (21.10.1919), may his soul be bound up in the bond of life.
A crown mounted over a Star of David enclosing the Hebrew word "ציון"-Zion tops the inscription.
The interior cloth bears horizontal and vertical rectangles enclosing geometrical motifs. It is framed by a silver strip, which terminates at the top in a triangle.
Eleven loops are attached to the top of the Parokhet.
