Who is Commemorated?
People killed here by the Nazis. According to the data of G.Ch.K. (State Commission), up to 12,000 victims could have been killed in this pit.
Description:
This pit is located in the southern part of the memorial complex.
The memorial for the pit is a granite ellipse, with a paved pathway cutting through the line and leading up to the pit. A commemorative granite block is situated on the left side of the end of the pathway and bears identical Lithuanian and Russian inscriptions.

Translation: Here Hitler’s occupiers burned unearthed corpses [from the killing sites].
According to an information plate, the inscription is not quite accurate, since exhumed bodies were burned at special sites next to each pit.
