History/Provenance
The synagogue was built in the mid-1870s by the architects Julius Deutsch and Slavko Lowy. It seems that the synagogue was modeled after Leopoldstädter Tempel in Vienna, Austria (1858).
During World War II it was used as a prison and later as a warehouse and industrial site.
The organ from the synagogue is preserved in the Franciscan church in Koprivnica.
