Collaborative project with the
Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera)
in St. Petersburg, Russia

The Center for Jewish Art is happy to announce a collaborative project with the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) in St. Petersburg, Russia. In the framework of the project, 196 photographs from the Kunstkamera collection were uploaded into the Bezalel Narkiss Index of Jewish Art. These photographs include: Jewish buildings in Samarkand, a synagogue, cemetery, and various Jewish groups in Kochi (Cochin), India, unique perspectives of the synagogue and Jewish cemetery in Liady, Jewish artisans in Dubrovno, Belarus, and previously unpublished photographs of Jews and Jewish buildings in Georgia.
