Description:
Artistic composition “Shoah. Ich bin Keidaner.” A monument combining symbols from the Old and New Testaments – the Burning Bush and the stylized Eye of Divine Providence. The triangle is made of metal. In the middle is the shape of an eye, and the rest of the space inside the triangle is divided into “shelves” on which stones are placed. From the center of the lower edge of the triangle, metal rods extend like rays beyond the boundaries of the triangle, where they are framed by an arc of the same rod. The pupil of the eye is composed of 2,076 empty bullet casings, symbolizing each Jew from this region who was shot in Kėdainiai in a single day. The stones represent eternity.

The artistic composition “Shoah. Ich bin Keidaner” was created by Feliksas Paulauskas. It was erected in 2011 near the Kėdainiai synagogue complex (see, e.g., here, here and kere). After 2017, it was moved to the site of the massacre and installed at the edge of the pit, supplementing the original memorial of 1957.
