Description:

The monument stands at the killing site. It is made from field stones in the shape of a pyramid. This pyramid stands on a high concrete base. Two metal plaques are attached on the front side of the pyramid, one above the other. The upper plaque has a Lithuanian inscription and the lower plaque has a Yiddish one. The star of David is depicted on the plaque with the Yiddish inscription. The site is fenced with a wire fence and a granite marker stands nearby.

80 žydų - vaikų, moterų
vyrų kraujas
Juos nužudė nacistai ir
jų vietiniai talkininkai
1941 VIII mėn.

Translation: The blood of 80 Jews – children, women, and men – was spilled here. They were murdered by the Nazis and their local collaborators in August 1941.

Yiddish:

דא איז פארגאסן געווארן
דאס בלוט פון 80 יידן -
קינדער, פרויען, מענער,
וועלכע די נאצי-רוצחים און
זייערע מיטהעלפער
האבן גרויזאם דערמארדעט
אין VIII 1941

Translation: Here was spilled / the blood of 80 Jews - / children, women, men, whom Nazi murderers and their helpers brutally killed in August 1941.

History

On August 8, 1941, about 70–80 Jews of Nemunėlio Radviliškis were shot in Skamarakai grove, about 1 kilometer from the town.

A monument was erected in the early 1990s, by the Jewish Community of Lithuania.

On January 29, 1996, the monument was registered in the State Cultural Register of the Republic of Lithuania of national importance (no. 11874).
