Who is Comemmorated?

Jews from Mondavi deported to Death Camps
The 6 Million Jewish Holocaust Victims

Description:

The monument is a tall narrow white marble stele, set on a small rectangular marble base. The monument is set near the red brick wall of the Protestant cemetery, at the beginning of the path to the original doorway into the adjacent Jewish cemetery. The monument is angled at about 45 degrees from the wall, so the inscription confronts the viewer. There is a narrow rough edge around the sides and top of the face of the stele, creating a frame for the large inscribed center section with inscribed letters and a smooth polished surface. In front of the monument is spread a low pile of white breccia (gravel). It is not known if this was past of the original design.
