On March 14, 1942, 57 Jews from Dolní Kounice were collected, taken to Brno, and from there to the ghetto in Terezín. The only survivor from this transport was Ruth Kopečková Morgensternová (1923-2022). In 2011, she commissioned the plaque in memory of her mother and other Jewish citizens of the town.
