A booklet for youth with stories about the holiday of Chanukah, illustrated by Otto Geismar.Geismar (1873-1957) was an art teacher in the Jewish community school in Berlin during the years 1904-1936; in 1930 he was sent by the Jewish community to Palestine and spent there several months. In 1939 he immigrated with his wife to Brazil and after World War II relocated to England. At the beginning of the booklet is a page with the logo of the "Jewish Winter Aid" (Jüdische Winterhilfe) organization and a text stating that the booklet was presented to donors for Chanukah 1938 (The "Winter Aid" organization was founded in the early 1930s with the aim of assisting needy Jewish people to survive the winter by providing food, medicine and heating means).
