Description

This text was prepared by William Gross:

Cover with color illustration of a Jewish family seated at the Shabbat or Holiday table, while the father (standing) recites Kiddush.

Variety of blessings and hymns, including Birkat Ha-Mazon, Brachot le-Yeladim, Zemirot le-Shabbat ve-Yom Tov, Hatikvah, and the Star Spangled Banner. Hatikvah was chosen as an anthem by Chovevei Zion. In 1897 it was proclaimed adopted as the anthem of the Zionist Movement at the First Zionist Congress. Compiler: D. Josephson
