All Jewish formal insitutions needed bylaws in order to function in an orderly manner. This is a list of rules for the administration of the Ashkenazi Synagogue in Amsterdam. Additions to the bylaws were also printed at various times.
Bylaws for the Ashkenazi synagogue of Amsterdam in the last half of the 18th century. The small book is sumptuously produced with deep letterpress printing, the use of cursive fonts and a decorated frame surrounds every page in the volume.
