Description

The following description was prepared by William Gross:   

 It is quite unusual to find an amulet written on cloth; those that exist seem to originate in Iran. The use of a triangle enclosing text is another sign of Iranian provenance. This is an amulet for a pregnant woman, Kashvar bat Sarvar,  to protect her unborn child and to provide general protection for them both agains the evil eye and spirits. In addition to the material on which the amulet is written, another very unusual feature is the presentation of the 10 sefirot, a powerful Kabbalistic protective image. Additionally there are the Magen David, a magic square and prominent angel writing.
