The Jews of Rokytne, Poland (Rokytne, Ukraine), and the surrounding communities in the Volhynia region who perished in the Holocaust.
Description:
The monument is located in the Southeastern Alley of the cemetery, along with dozens of other Holocaust memorials built by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives. The monument consists of a light-colored stone slab standing on a stone base. To its right, a smaller upright stone slab is positioned on the base. In front of the monument, three metal columns are connected by an iron chain. The monument bears Hebrew inscriptions honoring the community’s memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size. One of the inscriptions indicates that the monument contains the ashes of the Jews who perished in the Holocaust.
