The Jews of Nowy Targ, Poland, and the surrounding communities who perished in the Holocaust.

Description:

The monument is located in the Southeastern Alley of the cemetery, along with dozens of other Holocaust memorials built by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives. The monument consists of a light-colored stone slab with black granite cladding on its sides. Its upper and left edges are slanted. It stands on a tiered stone base that alternates between light-colored stone and black granite. At the foot of the monument, there are ten memorial candle structures.The monument bears Hebrew inscriptions honoring the community’s memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size.

As can be seen on the website of the Ghetto Fighters' House Archives, the monument was originally without the granite cladding and was made entirely of light-colored stone—the slab and the base alike. The memorial candle structures were added later.
