The Jews of Sieniawa, Poland, who perished in the Holocaust.

Description:

The monument is located in the Western Alley of the cemetery, along with dozens of other Holocaust memorials built by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives. The monument consists of a stone slab with a rounded top and set on a stone base, enclosed by a metal fence. Next to the slab is a small stone structure. The monument bears Hebrew inscriptions honoring the community's memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size.  Inscriptions indicate that the monument contains the scroll with the names of the community's victims, who perished in the Holocaust.

אשר נספו בשואה בשנים

התש"א התש"ד

הי"ד

 

ואעבור עליך ואראך

מתבוססת בדמיך

ואומר לך בדמיך חיי

 

יום הזכרון כ"ב בחשון

 

Translation:  A memorial / In memory of the martyrs / of the Sieniawa community / On the San river and its surroundings / who perished in the Holocaust / 5701–5704 / May God avenge their blood / And I passed by you and saw you / wallowing in your blood, / and I said to you: In your blood, live [Ezekiel 16:6] / Memorial Day: 22 Cheshvan.
