Who is Commemorated?

The Jews of Stoŭbcy and Novyi Sverzhen', Poland (today Stolbtsy and Świerżeń Nowy, Belarus), who perished in the Holocaust.

Description:
The monument is located in the Western Alley of the cemetery, along with dozens of other Holocaust memorials built by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives. The monument consists of a stone slab with a rounded top, shaped like a hand. At the bottom left of the slab, there is a small metal door leading to a niche. The monument is set on a base topped with a small horizontal slab. It is surrounded by short stone columns connected by metal chains. The monument bears Hebrew  inscriptions honoring the community's memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size. The small metal door could indicate that the monument contains the ashes the community's victims, who perished in the Holocaust.
