No official name.

Who is Commemorated?

The Jews of Wołczyn, Poland (today Volchin, Belarus), who perished in the Holocaust.

Description:

The monument is located in the Southeastern Alley of the cemetery, along with dozens of other Holocaust memorials built by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives. The monument features a black plaque engraved with an image of a memorial dedicated to 395 Holocaust victims from Volchin. On either side of the plaque are metal plates inscribed with the names of victims from the community. Below the plaque are two memorial candle holders. The entire monument is set on a raised platform. The monument bears Hebrew and English inscriptions honoring the community's memory. The community name is emphasized through the use of a larger font size. One of the inscriptions indicates that the monument contains the ashes of the Jews, who perished in the Holocaust.

On the central plqaue, in Hebrew and English:

יד זכרון לקדושי עיירה

וולצין ע"י בריסק

שנרצחו ע"י הנאצים
