Sacred and Ritual Objects Ushpizin plaque, Jerusalem, circa 1920
The following description was prepared by William Gross:
A late Monsohn lithograph for the Succah, this Ushpezin plaque was used in the Succah as evidenced by the holed in the page by which this piece was hung on the wall. The central scenes of this composition are the Temple Mount and the Kotel. Surrounding them are scenes from the lives of each of the Patriarchs remembered in the Ushpezin ceremony each evening of the Holiday.
A copy of this brightly colored and extensively illustrated sukkah plaque was purchased in Jerusalem in 1975 and used in the succah in the gross family home. The Monsohn logo in the lower right-hand corner has been replaced by the more contemporary printer.
