Translation: Holocaust Monument to the six million Jewish martyrs sacrificed during the Nazi barbarism of 1933-1945. The Jewish community of Costa Rica pays respect to their memory, sacrifice, and sublime heroism. They will never be forgotten. August 13, 1978 – Tisha B’Av – 5738.

memoria de las victimas del holocausto, perpetrado por

judío y afrenta a la humanidad.

Honor a su memoria, z’jor!
Recordar es nuestro deber! Nunca Jamas! Nuestro grito.

Translation: Yad Vashem Committee of Costa Rica, founded in San José, Costa Rica, in August 1978. Comprised of: Gideon Hausner, Honorary President; Bernardo Baruch, President; Isaias Stawski, Vice President; Lazaro Kaver, Secretary; Felix Wiernik, Treasurer; Sarita G. De Rovinski, Jaime Mikowski, Benjamin Tischler, José Wohlstein, Abraham Weisleder, Members. / Under whose auspices, organization, and dedication, this modest monument was erected—the first in the Americas—in memory of the victims of the Holocaust, perpetrated by the Nazis against six million Jews, an affront to the Jewish people and to humanity. Honor to their memory, z’jor! Remembering is our duty! Never Again! Our cry.
