Description:
The monument is located in the Western Alley of the cemetery, along with dozens of other Holocaust memorials built by Landsmannschaft organizations, survivors, and relatives. The monument consists of an arch made of dark granite, set on a stepped base. In the middle of the arch, there is a glass/fiberglass panel with Hebrew inscriptions. On each side of the monument, there is an image: one side depicts the community's synagogue, and the other side shows two images of the mass graves where the victims of the pogrom were buried. At the foot of the monument, on the back side, there is a sign with a Hebrew inscription. On the left side of the monument, there is a small structure shaped like a house, mounted on a short column. This structure serves as a memorial candle holder and also bears a Hebrew inscription.

Translation: In Memory of the Victims of the 1948 Pogrom in the Jewish Community of Aden/This is a memorial to our righteous and pious brethren of whom 82 souls/ were killed by the hands of the criminals May God avenge their blood May their souls rest in peace/B, D, H [Blessed is the True Judge]/On the mountains I will raise weeping and wailing/And on the pleasant pastures, a lamentation/My heart, my heart for the slain/My bowels, my bowels for the victims [Jeremiah 9:10 and Jeremiah 4:19] /On the days from the 20th to the 22nd of Kislev 1948/The sword struck our precious innocent and righteous brethren/Full of commandments like a pomegranate/They fell into the hands of the enemies of the Most High/Fire consumed and burned and they cried out but there was no answer/Some fell into the fire and others to the sword of the enemy of the Most High/Do not forget the day of their killing, O Most High/And in the spilling of innocent blood, bring their destruction/And have mercy on the victims/Who lie far from Zion/May their death be an atonement, and may the suffering end/And their memory be for eternal life/And may their souls be bound in the bond of life/Aden, 20th to 23rd of Kislev 1948/(This is the text of the lamentation written on the small mass grave in Aden).

Translation: Which we have heard and known and our fathers have told us / That the last generation might know them the children which should be born who should arise and declare them to their children (Psalms 78:3, 6).

Translation: A memorial candle with three sides / symbolizing the three days of the pogrom / against the Jews of Aden.

Translation: The Great Synagogue / "Magen Avraham" in Aden / was built in 1901 / on the foundations of a synagogue / from the second half of the 19th century.

According to the Aden Jewish Association:
The monument was inaugurated in August 2000. It was established through the initiative of the "Aden Jewish Association" with the support and funding of members of the community in Israel and abroad. The initiators were the heads of the association at the time: Aryeh Oded, Shimon Ben Tzur, Felix Ben Said, and Danny Goldschmidt.
