Decorated scrolls for the counting of the Omer are not often found. Those that are extant are usually for placement in boxes to be rolled and advanced once every day to expose that day's inscription. The decorations are normally floral in nature. This scroll has many different types of decoration and might have been used as it is and not in a box. The illustrated animals are unusual. The text for each day is simple and without Kabbalistic additions.
