  Dabbura Synagogue, 3rd-5th century CE

The lintel is inscribed and decorated with a central wreath flanked by two eagles. The wreath is tied with a Hercules knot formed by two snakes: their heads at the top of the wreath. The tails of the snakes are held in the beaks of the flanking eagles. The Hebrew inscription reads as follows:

זה בית מדרשו שלרבי אליעזר הקפר

Translation: This is the beit midrash of Rabbi Eliezer Ha-Kappar).
