Jewish Funerary Art Jewish cemetery in Nadiine, Ukraine
According to ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative, the exact period of the cemetery’s establishment is unknown. Given that the oldest preserved tombstone dates to the 19th – early 20th century, it can be gathered the cemetery was founded in that era. It cannot be found marked on old maps of the region. The village no longer exists. The cemetery is not fenced. There may be vandalism as the graves have been dug up, however this could easily be due to the local wildlife. There are 4 gravestones of the second half of 19th-early 20th century. All the stones are broken or overturned.
To reach the cemetery, start at the southeastern entrance to the village of Nadezhnoe, on the right hand side in the field (70m from the road) there will be an overgrown meadow, this is the cemetery.
