New Jewish cemetery in Dubăsari, Moldova

© Stuart Saffer, Photographer: Tepper, Yigal, 2003

The report "Jewish Historic Monuments and Sites in Moldova," published by The United States Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad in 2010, states:

"The cemetery is over 30,000 square meters in size and it is surrounded by a fence with a gate. It contains more than 500 stones, many of them finely carved. There is also a monument to a Hasidic rabbi Mendel from Bar and a memorial plaque for the old Jewish cemetery of Dubăsari. Although most of the older stones are toppled, the cemetery has a regular caretaker and its overall condition can be described as fair. Since 1993, restoration work has been done every year."
