The following description was prepared by William Gross:

In Commemoration of the Testimonial to Sir Moses Montefiore this bookmark was produced in honor of Moses Montefiore. It was embroidered by machine in Coventry, England, 1875. The decoration is both an embroidered illustration of Moses in the basket. as well as the verse "Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem" in Hebrew and in English. On the reverse appears the name of the manufacturer: T. Stevens. The small banner is very delicately done and includes the main image of Moses being found in the basket, the obvious reference being to his name.
