New (Scheinbach) Synagogue in Przemyśl - photos before 1939

© Sefer Pshemishl, p. 128, Photographer: Unknown, Before 1939
According to Sefer Przemysl (p. 129), the interior decorations of the New synagogue were performed by Bienenstock, a brother of Dr. Max Bienenstock from Tarnów, a professor in the local Gymnasium. Murals decorated the high vault of the prayer hall. On its western side, appeared a large depiction of Ps. 137:1-2 (On the river of Babylon), that allow to suppose that the opposed, eastern side, above the Torah ark, was decorated with a depiction of Jerusalem. The lateral sides of the vault bore depictions of the holy places in the Land of Israel.
