Jewish Architecture Great Synagogue in Slonim - Northern wall
To the main object: Great Synagogue in Slonim - Interior
The northern wall consists of two tiers divided by a horizontal cornice-like molding. The molding is painted with a floral motif “frieze”.
The lower tier contains windows looking in from the women’s section, and a door situated in the western corner.
The upper tier has three high windows divided by two pilasters. The western pilaster contains a painting ofa scene from Psalm 137. The painting shows a row of trees on a river bank with musical instruments hanging on their branches.
The plaster of the eastern pilaster has deteriorated, along with the painting upon it.
