Modern Jewish Art
Pann (Pfeffermann), The Creation of Eve

© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev,

A figure of a man is lying on the ground, his body is turned to the left. He is naked and from his rib-cage smoke is moving upwards, its shape undefined. The man has thin, long limbs and dark hair. Eve herself is not seen yet, but in the version of the lithograph done from this sketch, she will be seen materialising from the smoke in a serpent-like movement.
