Modern Jewish Art Sgan-Cohen, Map (kite)
The picture represents a map of Israel on a rhombus-shaped canvas with holes in the corners. Above the map is a light blue sky in the upper deep blue corner of which a white light is depicted. A large red triangle is depicted below the map in the lower corner. In the foreground ball shapes are depicted connected to each other in lines that create a system. This suggests a galactic system or Cabalistic spheres. The map, located in the center of the picture, depicts the land of Israel from an eastern point of view with northern brown Lebanon, Golan Heights and Upper Galillee mountains in the right corner of the "tiara." The coast is yellow reaching into the left hand, white corner of the picture. The sharon region is reddish brown with green lines representing the orchards on Hamra ground. The Mt. Carmel and Judea mountains are depicted in brown. Blue is used to represent the kidney-shaped Sea of Galillee surrounded by a green area that corresponds to the Lower Galillee and Izrael valley. The Jordan River and Valley are depicted using green on a yellow background, reaching the Dead Sea, which is cocealed by a ball shape. The Negev and Arava are painted yellow.
