The spice container in the shape of a tower, is made of silver and consists of a base, a shaft, a body, a roof and an apex. The raised rectangular base stands on four spherical legs, and is decorated with a filigree foliate pattern. The top of the base tapers towards the shaft. The shaft is undulating, with two main convex parts at its center. It tapers towards them from the base, and away from them towards the body. The shaft is held together by a central pin screw. The rectangular, tower-shaped body has two tiers of diminishing size. On the bottom tier there is an arch-shaped door. The side opposite the door is inlaid with a red stone, while the other two sides are inlaid with green stones. Inside the tier is a solid brass box, with an opening parallel to the door. The tier is surrounded by an undulating balustrade, and there are brass flag-poles with swallow-tailed flags in each corner. The flags bear an engraved, foliate pattern. A metal cord is wound around each flag-pole, and in two of the balustrade's corners there are spherical globs as well. The upper tier contains a cast bell hanging at its center, and flags in each corner, identical to those on the lower tier. There is a three-leveled window on each side. The tier is surrounded by a balustrade that hangs down over the lower tier. The roof is in the shape of a four-sided, undulating pyramidal spire. It is surmounted by a globular sphere, and a flagstaff with an "eyed," swallow-tailed flag inscribed with the interwoven initials "TS". The apex is in the form of a bird (shtanz) perched on a globe, with a mobile ring in its mouth.
