Ezekiel's prophesies abound in objects and animals as metaphors. They enable artists to depict concise images of single objects in conveying moral and social messages. In a stained glass window dedicated to prophet Ezekiel, the artist includes a depiction of the Temple in Jerusalem, an edifice crowned with serrated top, echoing the prophet's words: “Son of man, describe the temple to the people of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their sins. Let them consider its perfection, 11 and if they are ashamed of all they have done, make known to them the design of the temple—its arrangement, its exits and entrances—its whole design and all its regulations[d] and laws. Write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow all its regulations: (Ezekiel 45). Flowing water that he sees in one of his visions: "The man brought me back to the entrance to the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was trickling from the south side" (Ezekiel 47, 1). Dry bones, as signifying the resurrection of the dead on the day of judgment: "The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones… The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. […] 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! … will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ (Ezekiel 37, 1-14).
