Fol. 243v:
The biblical text in the centre of the page is surrounded by the Massorah magna and parva and by the Targum in the inner margin and on the three outer margins by Rashi's commentary, both written in shaped text. Rashi's commentary ends on the right in triangles which apexes facing inwards. On the lower left part of the page is a rectangular diagram illustrating his commentary for Numbers 34:3, describing the path which the Israelites traveled in the South of the land of Israel in order to enter the land from the East, and the countries associated with this journey.
The diagram is oriented “North” (צפון) on top, “East” (מזרח) on the right, “West” (מערב) on the left and “South” (דרום) at the bottom.
In the upper left square compartment of the diagram is inscribed “The Land of Canaan” (ארץ כנען), below this compartment, are three smaller compartments inscribed “Edom” (אדום) on the right and “Moab” (מואב) and “Egypt” (מצרים) on the left, one below the other. To the left of these is a long rectangular compartment inscribed, the “BigSea” (ים הגדול). To the right of “The Land of Canaan” are two small rectangular compartments, inscribed: “Jordan” (ירדן) and the “Dead Sea” (ים המלח). To their right is a large compartment inscribed, “Arvot Moab” (ערבות מואב) and a smaller compartment within it inscribed, “Sihon” (סיחון), forming the upper left corner of the diagram. The bottom part of the diagram is composed of a long strip of the desert, starting from the upper right corner of the diagram and ending in the corner of the “BigSea” on the left and inscribed with an excerpt from Judges 11:18 which Rashi quotes in his commentary (וילך במדבר ויסב את ארץ אדום ואת ארץ מואב).
