Fol. 261: The page contains the end of Lamentations and the beginning of Esther. The text at the end of Lamentations in the right column dwindles into a vertical line of single words.
The initial word of the book ויהי (Now it came to pass) is written in brown display letters (height: 5 lines) occupying the width of two text columns, the stems decorated with small rosettes.
The text illustration to the Book of Esther is in micrography of the massorah magna in the lower margin of the opening page. Hanging from the gallows are Haman and his ten sons (Esther, 7:10, 9:6-10). All the figures hang in a row: Haman on the far left, his sons in pairs. Each pair of figures is dangling from either end of a looped rope and shares a single visor without a head.
The figures are dressed and shown in three-quarters view, their hands bound in front and their feet turning to the left.
