Fol. 65v: Attacking a fortress. The moat is filled with straw and brushwood. At the entrance to the moat is a pipe filled with gunpowder and behind it a wooden shield on wheels, which a soldier is removing in order to fire a cannon. Two other soldiers, one holding a round shield, have various halberds to choose from. On his right, next to two cannon are the faces of four soldiers hiding behind the moat. In front of the fortress gate is a container with either water or ashes and resin. Next to the fortress fence are two men digging with shovels and spades. Defenders should have strewn pulse there, so that the digging of trenches could be heard.
