Fol. 64v: The first page of Exodus opens with a large initial word framed in the outer margins by geometrical interlaces in micrography. The initial word ואלה שמות (Now these are the names) is written in brown ink display letters (height 8 lines), occupying the width of two text columns, their stems decorated with small rosettes. The letters each are surrounded by micrography with pen-drawn foliate decoration.
The micrography in the lower margin forms interlacing bands of half-circles and zigzags, ending on the right in a pen-drawn lion's head with open mouth from which issues a vertical guilloche which reaches the top of the page, ending in the upper margin with three pen-drawn trefoil leaves. A dragon with a looped zigzag body is at the bottom of the facing page (fol. 65).
