Five young women are shown standing close one to another. The central figure is of a naked woman with a high hair-do. Her head is turned left while her corps is turned to the right. Her left hand, bent in the elbow, is raised and her left hand is streched to the right on the level of the waist. The whole gesture, being very constraint, represents a readiness for a flight. A "gothic" drape, crumpled on the foreground, covers the woman's lap. The second naked woman stands in a half turn to the left with her hands behind her back and looking tensely forward. A sharp profile of the third woman facing left is depicted between the two nudes. Two last women are dressed. They are shown in the left part of the group. The thoughtful face of one of them is shown frontally. The other stands in profile facing left. She has a long hair and wears a cap.
