The work represents a scene in a kindergarten in the Jewish agricultural commune. The children and their tutor are shown on a semi-circle open veranda. A young woman (the tutor) in a grey dress and red hat stands frontally in the left part at the wall. She holds the hand of a girl showing her a toy. Three children are sitting around the table in the center of the composition. (There are two boys and a girl.) The boy sitting to the right lays out red calculating sticks. Two barefooted girls are standing to the right. A little boy is sitting in the center on the foreground. On the background, behind the banisters of the veranda there is a field. Three cows and a shepherd are going forwards across it. The children's dress is red, pink, blue, white and brown. The sky is light blue.
